American seniors are overwhelmingly shifting their vote from Trump in 2016 to Biden in 2020

According to most recent CNN poll, American seniors are overwhelmingly shifting their vote from Donald Trump in 2016 to Joe Biden in 2020.The CNN poll reports that Biden is up by 21 points among voters 65 years and older while the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll from last weekend has Biden up by 27 points among seniors. In the 2016 Presidential election, Trump received 6 points more votes than Democrat Hillary Clinton among seniors. This is an extraordinary shift of 25 to 30 points AWAY from President Trump. Seniors constitute about 25% of American voters. This watershed US electoral realignment is reflected in key “swing” states such as Florida where 30% of the electorate is seniors. Overall, Donald Trump narrowly won the state and its key electoral votes by less than 1%.In 2016, he received over 10 points higher number of senior votes than Clinton. Today, Joe Biden has reversed this advantage as Donald Trump faces rapidly declining senior support in Florida. If Donald TRUMP loses the election in Florida, it is unlikely that he can secure enough Electoral College votes to win the 2020 Presidential election.
